While I sympathize with the sentiment of the woman in this story, the legal issues here is what I’d like to comment on. I believe this case could have absolutely different outcomes based on which court hears the case.

In a liberal area, where it is fair to assume a jury would be comprised of left leaning (and anti-gun) jurors, this woman is likely to find herself convicted of “threatening words.” As a side note different states have differing names for this sort of law and differing standards to prove a violation.

In a conservative area where you are likely to have conservative jurors, (who are also likely pro-gun) proving this person intended to threaten the school board “beyond a reasonable doubt” may not happen.

Either way kiddies, choose your words carefully, lest you find yourself in court having to defend them.
